5 Last-Minute Holiday Marketing Ideas

December 14, 2018

Reading Time: 3 minutes

5 Last-Minute Holiday Marketing Ideas HeaderImage

By now, the holidays are in full swing – it’s time to make your list and check it twice:

  • Baked cookies ✓
  • Hung the stockings by the chimney with care ✓
  • Set up a holiday marketing plan ✖

Oops! Don’t put yourself on the naughty list just yet – there’s still time to pull together some last-minute holiday marketing.

1. Use Your Highest-Performing Blog

There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. If you need to pull together a quick campaign for the holidays, use what you already have. Take a look back at your most successful blog posts. You can take an existing blog and add some pizzaz (like a few images or well-placed graphs) and create a brand new PDF. Ta-da! Now you have a download you can use for a marketing campaign, without having to write anything. For more tips on how to craft a campaign, check out our How to Create an Inbound Marketing Strategy guide.

2. Give Away Something for Free

People always love free things – and especially around the holidays when money is tight after buying gifts. An easy way to generate some quick buzz is to give away something free. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture – take this example from one of our clients, MVP Logistics:

3. Client Appreciation

Holiday marketing ideas are a struggle for those of us who aren’t in the consumer products market. You don’t have to be selling a tangible product to get into the holiday spirit. Instead, show your customers you care and are thankful for their business. A simple way to do this is sending an email with a holiday video from your business.

4. Holiday Discount

This is a classic, simple tactic that works for both B2C and B2B alike. December is a great time to offer a discount – even if the service you provide doesn’t have a deadline on it. For most businesses, December marks the end of their fiscal year. Consider offering a holiday discount through the end of the year – it could be as simple as $10 with a code or a $30 rebate on their next service.

5. Fundraiser

People tend to feel more charitable during the holidays. Why not tap into that giving power to raise money for a cause you care about? Set a simple fundraising goal and prompt acton through emails and social media posts. This is a great way to keep your business top of mind while also doing some good.

Just because the holidays are already underway doesn’t mean it’s too late for some holiday marketing. With these last-minute ideas, you can still end the year strong.
