Zeroing in on Your Customer and Their Journey

How do you find the right people to sell to? If your answer is “we sell to everyone” – it’s time to rethink your strategy. Has casting your net as far and as wide as possible brought in the quality leads you were hoping, or just a lot of dead-end calls?
Instead of shouting to everyone in the world and hoping one person shouts back, speak directly to your perfect customer. Finding your target market is easiest by creating buyer personas. These fictionalized persons represent your real, existing customers to help you find more people like them.
Once your buyer persona is created – ask yourself: what process do your clients go through to make their decision to purchase from you? Do you know the specific steps they take? What hurdles they encounter?
Many companies don’t actually know what their buyer’s journey is. Getting good leads is only half the battle – you also have to make sure your processes fit with their decision-making journey so those leads turn into actual sales.
